Colossians 3 Explanation in Detail
Colossians 3 explains The Christ who has been raised from the dead in Baptism. nd seated at the right hand of the Father in this angel. The exalted soul of Christ dwells with God
Colossians 3:1-4
VERSE
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
At the moment when a person is baptized his Sins are dead. After his Baptism; when the person comes out of the water all his sins are dead in the water and he roses with the new spirit. According to the faith, With the Baptism death doesn’t exist in the body and the new spirit of Christ dwells in him. And for this reason, when the body gets forsaken from sin due to Christ’s Spirit dwelling in him the baptizer should be aware of the heavenly features and lead his life accordingly to receive eternity. These are the person who should be considered as the Holy or the Saint.
St.Paul always makes the Colossians aware of this fact and encourages them to follow their life in the principles of Jesus. The soul of the baptizer is not left to sleep in the underworld but God preserves it in heaven. It means like a father keeps his Son’s valuables private. If we think that the soul of sanctified Christians sleeps with the rest of the underworld, the word kept in the secret in Heaven by Baptism has no relevance.
In their translation of the Greek original, most Bible scholars write that the spirit is hidden in God. At the second coming of the Lord, the Souls are hidden in God. At the second coming of the Lord, the souls hidden in God will enter the bodies of those who are asleep and reenter.
The chapter is to wait for a judgment, it is like Theatrical Theory, thinking that God is using human souls for his Game drama. It is not right for God, who has not seen the soul to see if the souls have been hidden in God for centuries, and then wait for Judgement. Believers who have been thus purified on the earth should not get caught up in philosophy ( the principles of the Jews in Judaism ). The souls who have been fortunate enough to dwell in the mystery of God are appearing as the second incarnation of Jesus Christ.
The Soul doesn’t have any evilness in them and led a holy life; they never undergo any judgments. These holy persons should never follow Gnosticism, or Judaism ( false theories ). This person gets the opportunity to be part of the Mysteries of God and they receive the fortune to be ascended from above with Jesus and themselves to be on His side. They come like this to face the dead and the living together. Because of Baptism received, the Soul receives the Mysteries of eternity because we follow the principalities of the body. And when this body dies, with the grace of God this body is completely visible in heaven
Colossians 3:5-6
VERSE
“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience“
According to the old testament times Sexual immorality was seen as sexual immorality of a family or community. Adultery with another man’s wife is punishable by death. Also shouldn’t commit adultery with the father’s wife too. The adultery between Father-in-law and the son’s wife is also seen as a serious offendable sin. If a person does adultery with a lady and her daughter; three of them should be put in the fire and burnt away. The adultery with animals should be put to death. The sexual immorality between brothers and sisters should also be put to death. None should commit adultery with a father, mother, or siblings; also never do sexual immorality with a brother’s wife and they should never conceive a child too ( Levi 20: 9 – 21).
All these adulteries seem to come under immoral acts. Adultery was offered to the Molokini; which was also considered as an immoral act ( Levi 20 : 3-7).
In the New Testament even if we urge for it in our heart also considered as the Sin committed. So St. Paul strictly warned and also teaches the Colossians Christians not to follow all these deeds. We have been given to the soul of Christ through Baptism. Adultery is like the garbage collected in the water; which is not separated from the water. The commandment of chastity is passed down from generation to generation in any family. The disobedience of Adultery comes under the law of uncleanliness. Same as the Israelites gave offerings to the Moloch(Molech – practice of child sacrifice). The rituals of offerings of the animals (like hen offerings), alcohol, Tulabhara( weighing scale), etc all offerings are examples of impurity.
For those who follow the rituals, the evilness of this impurity gets transferred into their blood and passed from generation to generation. This lies in the members of a complete family and makes them unclean. This impurity / unclean thing inside the body is called Unclean. The impurity of the Coloassae Christians was removed through the baptism and hence St.Paul also warns them to always stay away from all these unclean things too. In the pure heart, only the Devotion towards the Lord will be firm and the heart is always filled with belief, and love in it. But to destroy this, in the Adults the sexual desires turn to be an immoral act. That it’s stating the worldly lust which leads to a sinful character. So, for this reason, St. Paul states to Timothy that everyone can get rid of such sin of desire/ lust.
“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart”( 2 Timo 2: 22).
Evil thoughts can remove the powerful action of God from the human body. St. Paul compares such desires to idol worship. When St. Paul says that such despicable actions are equivalent to idolatry, we should see how much idolatry is followed by the Christians. If Christians continue to live like this, all these things will 100% come and suffer the Lord’s wrath.
THE ALBINGENSES
The Albigenses believers were Manichaean villagers who emerged In Southern France in the 12th and 13th centuries. In the tourist Councell ( 1163) this group was called. Till the last of the 12th century, they carried with Gnostic teaching which was really troublesome to the Churches. The Catholics called them Cathares. They carried the Islamic- Judaism traditions with new versions of theories in all of their speeches.
Whatever was good was created by God and whatever was bad that was created by Satan. The Evil world was created by Satan. The creator of Man is Satan. That’s why there came the existence of Sin in the flesh. The body is not formed from the spirit, but from matters only. He preached that the Old Testament is the most necessary thing in human life and the New Testament contains only God’s Revelations. The Spirit of God – did not help when writing the New Testament. It was written by the man only. Jesus is not a redeemer. All who wear fleshly clothing are sinners.
They couldn’t redeem men and because Jesus lived on the earth in the flesh, all the principles of the world would be enslaved. They believed that Jesus‘s salvation on the cross was hypocritical. All punishment is on earth. No man goes into a fiery drama. When the punishment on earth is over, God will save all the souls. Christ came into the world not as the evangelists say. Christ was bodiless up. the sky was a sphere. Mary pierced Tya’s ear and was born from Mary, but her body was visible. Christ was not born in the flesh but as a sphere in the sky. Jesus entered through the ears of Mary and was born from Mary and had a visual feature of the living body. And he didn’t do anything regarding the resurrection of the body. And if the people wanted the resurrection then it was only possible if they had joined the AlbineanChurches; which all of them believed. And according to Gnosticism counsels were made and from there, the origin of the Angels started and was accepted.
IMPURITY
It goes with the thought of revenge. following Idolatry all leads to impurity. The idolatry, witchcraft, materialist desire, and all the other impure adorations and offerings are the Gentile cultures. It‘s having a physical or moral blemish so as to make impure according to the laws, especially the dietary or ceremonial laws.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies; and they defile a man.
Colossians 3:7
VERSE
“In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.“
St.Paul states that the old life of Coloassian Christians was so terrible that their old life shouldn’t be looked back to the faith. They had the life of worshipping the Serpents and adoration of the evil spirits of hatred and revenge and there is no doubt that the wrath of God will come upon them who will not sanctify themselves and lead a life for achieving eternal life.
Colossians 3:8
VERSE
“But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth“
The man had got the full freedom to select what was good for him. As for his likes and dislikes, he has the choice to select the goodness or the sin. Blame, revenge, and backbiting are used at times, but believers must control their tongues. Those who are led by the Lord should not live in enmity without controlling their tongues. Law strongly advises that those in the congregation should not lie to one another.
It is not possible to change anything between the members of the body that are closely related to the head. When brothers lie to each other, the bodies that are attached to the head that is Christ are divided. Throw away the evil old life in tongue, and faith as the old men smelled incense to remain holy in the Church.
Colossians 3:9
VERSE
“Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds“
The process of casting away the old man to remain holy in the church. The vile old life must be torn away in spirit and faith as a serpent sheds its tail. When we say that we leave the old life, the bad smells that come with it must also be left behind. Do not sin against the head by lying.
Colossians 3:10
VERSE
“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him“
The Apostles say that men bear the image of God. Men are created by the perfect wisdom of the highest God. Women are seen as part of men’s bodies. Eve of Adam from the way of life repentance, deception, and greed should go away and the mind should become a man renewed by your spirit.
“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness”( Eph 4: 22 -24)
Deception and fleshly desires must be removed from the way of life before repentance and become a man who is renewed by the spirit of Jesus.
“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither gives place to the devil “(Eph 4: 25 – 27)
It means absolute wisdom resides within us. It is a complete life in dwelling with Jesus. And if with it we start lying we give a chance to Satan in our life. And that all new image of man is created in knowledge by Jesus Christ. Those who see us should be able to visualize the creator dwelling within us. And that all complete wisdom of the image is of Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:11
VERSE
“Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all”
The word Christ is all and is in all means that Christ dwells in all nations. St. Paul meant by this that the person who dies in the baptism in that person can only Christ dwells. That is the secret He revealed in his article to the Coloassian Churches. Paul taught us to put off the old man and put on the new man because Christ doesn’t reign over everyone. And those who don’t have the spirit of Christ he is of this world.
“Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all “(Romans 8: 9)
St. Paul says that JESUS has the authority over everything on the earth; which is clearly mentioned in Chapters 1 and 2. Anyone can accept Christ, the creator of all creations in the world, as a saviour, and those who suffer the successions of Sin, everyone in the world can receive his salvation. Therefore the Gospel should be heard and by believing Jesus Christ one should take the Baptism.
“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned ”( Mark 16: 16 )
Paul said that the Salvation of Christ is for everyone that is for the Greek, the Jew, the poor, the uncircumcised, the uncivilized the slave and the free. Christ is always for all of these groups. In the early Church, people belonging to different sects joined the church as believers. And from the beginning, there was a difference of opinion between the circumcised and the uncircumcised among the believers. Even in the case of Christ reigning among believers, there were ideological problems. The Gentiles, the Jewish Christians, believed that God did not dwell in them unless they were circumcised.
There was also a great disagreement regarding the dwelling of Jesus Christ in them. The members of the same Church of which one member believed that Jesus is with them and the other group believed that Jesus is not with them, but St.Paul only wrote about this matter in his epistles and never taught that Christ dwells in the heathen only and never dwells with the cruel people who live in the world.
What Should Be Done Toi Get Complete Purity
We are the parts of Christ’s body. And so for this reason we must give the leadership of our control to Jesus Christ. It’s through baptism that we have risen with Christ from death, and when that person dies his soul rests with Christ’s divinity in heaven. And they through their lives also show that they are the body of Christ; then only such souls after death are blessed with holiness. And if one prays to other than Christ who is the Head, also then go after them for salvation; then he is making himself separated from the Head (Christ). And then Hence we will be like the False hypocritical preachers who worked against Christianity.
Colossians 3:12-13
VERSE
“Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.“
We should never think that it was we who left other gods and selected Jesus. It was through the grace of God we were accepted by Almighty God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” ( Romans 3: 23–24 )
Though Jesus was in the flesh when he lived after his resurrection, he became light and came appeared to St. PAUL. Don’t believe the picture or idol of Christ who is the word, love, and light in the imagination of the artist. If a person says that he found Christ himself through this image, it is possible to some extent in his mind, but it is not true.
“And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me” ( Acts 22: 6 )
“And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me ”( Acts 22: 9 )
“And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus”( Acts 22: 11)
“At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me”( Acts 26: 13 )
“That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles”(Acts 26: 23)
Don’t believe the image of Christ which is word, love, and light in the artist’s imagination thinking that the idol is Christ himself through this image, although it is possible to some extent in his mind, it is not true.
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” ( 2 Cor 11: 4 )
Through following the rituals one can strongly claim that he is serving the Lord. Man is making the idols and then he is only serving it claiming that it’s God. By doing this he is following the rituals of the Gentiles. Man can’t create the divinity of God through his hand work. Instead, man is created by the Almighty God itself; man is the creation of the Almighty God.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2: 10 )
By the grace of Almighty God, only we can reach Jesus; and it’s not achieved by merely making too many Idols.
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” ( John 6: 44)
When we receive the grace of God only we are able to hear and follow the Gospel in true faith.
“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved” ( Ephesians 2: 5)
Christ’s favour is not received by following harmful rituals and offerings or by harming your head and getting it in return. When grace comes to someone he becomes his own to Christ.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9)
It’s Jesus who selects us and not We who select the Christ.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you ( John 15: 16)
We became part of Christ before the world was formed. And we are selected to be the part of Christ.
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love” ( Ephesians 1: 4 )
“And those who were selected became the part of Christ and his kingdom too ” (1 Peter 2: 9 )
“ Selection is made in a similar way to how adoption is done. When once selected he would always be Christ’s son” ( Ephes 1: 5 )
St. Paul reminds the Colossian Christians that those who are selected by the Lord should be having grace, kindness, gentleness, politeness, forgiveness, etc. They should help their fellow brothers, and if the fellow brother commits any mistake he should forgive him. And it should never be performed as your duty but instead, it should be carried as the Almighty God forsaken our sins so we must we too show towards others. Then only we become the image of Almighty God.

Colossians 3:14
VERSE
“And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.“
It was St. Paul who saw firsthand that Stephanous was forgiving his enemies when he was killed. When Paul, who was Saul saw this death, thought that Christ lives in one who has this character of forgiveness ( Math 6: 14 -15 )
There were very different characters between the fellow ones who joined the fellowship. Though they were in different groups and were also far from each other but still all must follow the path of forgiveness. ( Math 18: 21 – 22 )
St. Paul said to make the different parts of the churches united with Christ’s body, there was only one weapon that everyone should follow which is the Love of Christ which was bestowed upon us ( John 13: 35)
Love of Christ Should be reflected in each and every Christian. The Love of God was bestowed upon the Lost Son; in the same way, everyone in the Church should follow it (Luke 15: 11 -32). Christ gave the most important commandment was to LOVE ONE ANOTHER ( John 15 : 12- 15).
Math 6: 14 -15
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses”
Math 18: 21 – 22
“Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times? Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven”
John 13: 35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all men will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another”
John 15 : 12- 15
“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you ”
Christening: Baptism Of Babies
In the Churches, the babies are given the names through the Baptism. And the Catholics call baptism Christening. There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Churches. The child is given a new name in the presence of family and friends. The name of the baptizer is recorded in the Church and so for this reason it is considered to be the most important sacrament of the Church.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF CHRISTENING?
A Christian ceremony at which a baby is christened; a baptism. CHRISTENING is a religious ceremony that welcomes someone into the Christian Church by Baptism. That is the right of infants/ babies. And the Church takes the responsibility to fulfil the right of the infant. In other words, it’s the adoption of the Infant by the Churches. The Church assumes the responsibility for heaven. In other words, the Church is adopting the child not at the request of the child. Rather the compassionate parents of the infant understand that baptism is the right of a baby to be part of GOD and is not because of the traits. And that’s why a baby is adopted for Christ by the Churches, even without the baby’s own permission too. And the baby receives baptism by the Church. Create a dual citizenry with citizens who are denied Christian entry and citizens who are senior citizens.
In the Church, there are Christians from babies to adults. Jesus performed his circumcision at a very young age ( on the 8th day after his birth ). St.Paul when comparing baptism and circumcision then he gave more importance to the baptism of the infants. Because it’s more spiritual than other things.
Baptism is the first sacrament that is done by Christians because that is the spiritual door to be in Christ. Jesus said to Nicodemus” I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the spirit. In the words of Jesus, it is said that the substance of water and the spirit are needed for Baptism. It is not about the amount of water, hotness, or coldness, but that water is needed for baptism.
The emphasis in the Paedo baptism is on ‘the Holy Trinity,’ rather than the law of water. It means that if you are not born of spirit, you will not enter heaven. This word tho says that the substance of water and the spirit are required for baptism. The child who is being baptized and the priest who gives the baptism uses the word as in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, used with true faith then the infant receives the glory of the baptism. When the church says “ Baptized in the name of the Trinity, “ the heavens accept it. Like the words as it says – It’s better to die than to live in Sin; in the same way, the church adopts him through baptism before he falls into sin. From the epistles of Excellency of Pope Dio Eugene IV ( the Decre For the Armenians)
Colossians 3:15
VERSE
“ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful“
Peace Given By Jesus – Greek: EIRENE / PEACE
An agreement between two groups, freedom from disturbance; tranquillity, a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended, a ceremonial handshake or kiss exchanged during a service in some Churches, Symbolizing Christian love and unity. The word Peace refers to the tranquillity that comes through understanding, agreement, and quietness. From the Anglo-French car used ‘pes’ comes the old French car used ‘Pes’ comes the old French ‘Pais’ meaning Peace.
The people of the 11TH Century addressed death with the word peace, which means when talking about a dead person, they used to travel in peace and rest in peace i.e. ( has died in Peace, or is resting in Peace). The Jews used the word peace from the time of Jesus. It’s good to understand why the Jews used the word peace for everything in the time of Jesus. They called it in Hebrew – Shalom, which means peace. And in Greek, the Jews referred to and used Shalom as Irene: meaning completeness, victory, security, unity, etc. In the Old Testament Peace comes from God, the owner of Peace.
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn” ( Isaiah 61: 1- 2 )
Jesus Christ is the eternal peace.
“ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” ( Isaiah 9: 6)
The Jews believed that human beings go to evil, strife, mutual hatred, and poverty when they break the covenant of peace with God. For the Jews, there is Peace in Zion only.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”( Isaiah 52: 7 )
But the Christians understood the word PEACE entirely differently from the Jews. Believing in Christ in the New Testament, Peace is the ability to live without a troubled mind.
“ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” ( John 14: 27 )
For the principles of the world, the desires of the world, or the people of the world, nothing equals the peace of Jesus. Even if there is stress in the world, keep your mind on the peace of the Lord Jesus.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world ” ( John 16: 33)
The Resurrected Jesus Christ greeted with his Peace to disciples before sending them to preach the Gospel.
“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so, send I you” ( John 20: 21)
Also, St. Paul reminds the Colossians Christians to follow and be in the same rules of the Peace which Christ followed.
Colossians 3:16-17
VERSE
“ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.“
While Preparing The Song and Speech
In a group, when speech, praises, or anything else is done then see whether it’s followed according to the word of the Lord. If you worship by writing songs against the principalities of Christ then, you will not get a reward from Heaven. Only those who hold fast to the word of life will only receive heaven.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” ( Hebrews 6: 1 )
“ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain” ( Phil 2: 16 )
Church Should keep the word in front of them because it is the word that cleanses sin (Hebrew 3). If anything is written on the basis of the customs and customs of the religion or people should never be brought into the church.
“ Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save your souls” ( James 1: 21)
The word of Christ should dwell richly in the heart.
“ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him” ( Colossians 3: 16,17 )
St. Paul says that we need to think about whether we are living in the church based on the word of the Gospel.
“ By what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach” ( Romans 10: 8 )
There may be those who worship Gnostic teachings, worshipers of the natural powers, and those who worship angels with evil thoughts before the Church. Those who received the word will not enter into the evil words of these people. To defeat such people there should be the power of the Word of God dwelling in us ( spiritual thinking, ) to be prosperous in the spirit we should have a strong belief in the Word of God and it should be deeply rooted in us. With proper knowledge of the word of God only we can justify ourselves against them.
In the Church too, the teachings should be on the basis of the Gospel only.No one should preach according to their ideas to the Churches of the world, instead, it should be on the basis of Jesus’s teachings and the word of God.
“ They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world” ( John 17: 16,17 )
Whatever we do in the Churches we should give thanksgiving to God through praising and adoring Jesus. This was strictly told by the Apostles to follow; because no unclean things shouldn’t be offered to the Almighty God through thanksgiving and praises.
Colossians 3:18-19
VERSE
"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them."
The Law of Family Life
It’s the rule that a man should leave his parents and be with his wife.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” ( Genesis 2: 24 )
A man should love his wife as he loves his own body.
“So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself ” ( Ephes 5: 28 )
In Christianity, it is not like the wife should be like a servant doing the will of the husband. If the wife insists on engaging in another wrongdoing in order to fulfill her husband’s interests, then she does not have to obey. St. Paul says that obeying the husband should be a way that is acceptable to the Lord.
It is given as a document that even if the husband says that the action is not in accordance with the Lord’s order it should not be followed.
“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered” ( Peter 3: 7 )
The wife must have obedience in all things except Sin. Husband and wife should be equal. Christian families live in this system. Above all, husband and wife should give priority to love. Marriage should be chosen as an honorable system. And should be followed by both of them equally.
” Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge”(Hebrew 13:4)
AUGUSTAN MARRIAGE
Roman Emperor Augustus brought the marriage law. It has been applied in Asia for some time. This law created a lot of misunderstanding and caused miserable effects in the family relationship; due to which family life became conflicted. Marriage ceremonies last for forty days and then the groom and the bride become a couple. They also had one more ancient culture followed too in these lands. When the children are in the cradle itself ( infant period)their marriages are been fixed. By the family members. And whichever family denies the proposal; they were seen to be badly insulted.
Marriage between the feeding mother’s children was not allowed, Which means the siblings who grew up feeding on their mother’s milk or if suppose their mother gets ill and they depend upon the other mother breastfeed too then; the marriage with the other mother’s children’s was also not allowed; or in other words, the brothers and sisters who grew up drinking the milk of one mother should not marry. ( this law is followed by the Muslims of Turkey even today.)
Virginity was essential for them. On the day of marriage, an elderly woman places the bride’s hands in the bridegroom’s hand. After that elder woman covers the bride’s face and shows it to the groom. After that everyone followed the village tradition followed with the prayers recitations. And everyone who attends the marriage should attend the feast too. And a linen cloth would be spread on the bed as proof that the girl was a virgin. If there is no evidence of blood, the bride must be taken back by her family. And it created a severe insult to the two families in front of others. ( article RTMCT)
In the Coloassae this ritual was followed with many others too. Also, child marriage too was practiced strongly in these places. It should be remembered that Coloasse stands in Phyrgia, the birthplace of the mother of the Greek Gods, a place where a lot of rituals were followed. Many complicated problems arise between the couple who grew up in the bad ashes of marriage and superstition. Gentiles who lived this way recognize the true God; believed in Him and stand in the Coloassian Church. By Baptism, they cast away the blind assets of ancient Turkey and Asia Minor. Paul gives new commandments to the church in contrast to their old rural marriages and becomes the New creation. Although they were enslaved to the old life, they accepted the Law in Christ’s Bosom. Christian couples are members of the body of the Christ Church document. The Wife should be subject to her husband as the Lord commanded. A husband loves his wife as he loves his wife; both groups are members of the body of Christ.
Colossians 3:20-21
VERSE
“Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.“
The Phrygia Culture For Mothers, Children Of The Colossea
According to the ancient village practice, children were forced to help their mothers at work in Collossos. From the HITTITE System and the ancient Akkadian tribe ( B C 2334 – 2083), this lifestyle was formed and followed their culture. Asia Minor is the area that lies southwest of today’s Turkey. The Hittites used to rule here. Before the Hittites, the Akkadian tribes ( BC 2334 – 2083) ruled here. The Hittites called this land Akshaya. Asia Minor was called the Palace of the rising sun when the Romans ruled here. Akkadian Sumerian tribes lived in Mesopotamian culture. Therefore it is assumed that In ancient times, there were magic spells, human magic, and nature worship in these lands. Between 1250 -1200 BC the Hittite Mediterranean Sea, peoples who ruled here were defeated and expelled from here. The sea peoples were later conquered by the Persian Empire( BC 559 – 530).
Caesar came to power in Asia Minor defeating the Yavana Empire (BC 129)New roads and towns were built in Asia Minor and Colosseum during Roman rule. All the facilities needed for people’s life could be found anywhere in Asia Minor The Romans did not hesitate to build even the coastal areas into large towns. Then in A D 476 THE Tiser rule ended and the Roman Catholic Byzantine rule came into being.
In ancient times it was a place famous for worshipping the goddess Potnia sviya (Asia ) as the mistress of Asua. Asia Minor was known as Lithia when the Persians ruled Asia Minor before Christ. At that time Persia was ruling and speaking. Sais worshipped the Gods and goddesses of Greek mythology. The Lithians ruled as Kings from 560 BC before Cyrus. Hence Asia Minor was known as Lithia. Cyrus captured this place by defeating the Lythian King Coetius.
In relation to the Church, the children of Christians are adopted children of Christ. Together with the Church, parents should help their spiritual power. This will destroy their desire to be a servant of Christ. Alexander of Asia Minor conquered the Yavana empire by defeating THEM. THE Greeks removed many of the Persians from here and brought ancient Greek culture with them. Potnia Agnia ( maintaining the old culture of worshiping the Goddess).
Empire changed to Potnia Asvia herself to the goddess Artemis and built a large temple to Artemis ( in old Lythia),
That ancient place was called Lythia; later known as Ephesus. In the 11th century, the Ionian Prince Androklos changed the name of Lithia to Ephesus.
Colossea Phrygia Culture
Phrygia was the sacred birth place of Rhea, the mother of Greek Gods. Colossus was the largest city in Phrygia before Christ. Rhea, the mother of the Greek Gods, lived in Phrygia. In Ephesus, Rhea of Phrygia was honored in ritual, veneration, and prayer for Artemis and Goddess Zeus. It can only be imaged how much Greek God-Goddess influence and influence and superstitions there must have been in Phrygia’s chief city of Colossus when the mother was in Phrygia, the main center of superstition in Asia Minor.
Phrygia was described as the birth place of coins by those of the time, and Phrygia was the first to use coin exchange in the trade. A child born in Phrygia will grow up to be the mother’s helper first and children should not fail to do so. (Joshua J Mark Creative Commons attribution)
Children should obey their mothers as they respect Rhea, the mother of Gods and Goddesses. They should help according to the local customs even if they are poor or are very weak. In relation to the Church, the children of Christians are adopted children of Christ. The Church is to raise children to Christ . Together with the Church, parents should help their children grow spiritually. The Christian children of the Colossian Church should not be provoked by any system of conduct to Greek philosophies and quench their spiritual power. This will destroy their desire to be a servant of Christ.
Colossians 3:22
VERSE
“ Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons“
Slave Law Of Rome And Christian Slaves
Slaves you are the material masters in everything – St. Paul means to obey in this text, Avoid pretending to work only to please your masters when their eyes are on you. Slaves who believe in Christ must be good servants who do their duty even in the absence of their master in order to honour the Lord. Slaves were the property of their masters under the Roman system. If they work, some will not even get a wage. In this situation, they should not be discouraged and try to see Christ in their suffering. Work with Christ before you. By doing such work, the prayers of the slaves will reach God and there will be a response from God. ( masters have freed their slaves by seeing the spiritual nature of their slaves and coming to know Christ. eg – Philemon, onesie Moss) According to Paul’s advice, wherever we work, we should only look for the approval of the Lord. Christians are not to work for the consideration or approval of their masters. It should be thought that I am doing this to help the Church of Christ along with feeding the family and to shed tears for the poor of Christ.
The Slave System Of Rome – When Paul Preaches About Jesus To Them
The Slave in Rome were mostly prisoners of war, debtors, vulnerable people, and the ransomed. In the world, the system of cohabitation is related to the work of houses, farms, etc. Rome slaves were mostly sold and bought to do the work of buildings, agriculture, etc. Slaves were first legislated during the reign of Hammurabi. Mesopotamia ( Iraq ) was ruled by Habib ( 1792- 1750 BC) When Abraham and his father Terah lived in the land of Ur, Iraq was ruled by Hammu Rabi.) Even if the slave ran away from the master, the family that harboured the runaway slave was also liable to the death penalty ( Hammurabi Code)
The children of the slave will also be the Slave to their masters. During those periods the fathers sold their children for their debts. If a family had no means to live on, they would themselves become slaves to someone.
At the time when Rome was growing after the Yavana Empire. The Republic Roman military empire grew in power. That is the kingdom on the enemy side of Rome was defeated and conquered and enslaved in masses. To some extent, many of the soldiers of the Western Yavana’s kingdom were slaves of Rome. 30- 40 % OF Europe was filled with slaves. Mediterranean coast dwellers and pirates were also enslaved. Some of them were assigned for sexual entertainment and other hard work. But some masters employed their slave girls as accountants and physicians. The faithful Rayas appointed them as in charge of all. Slaves who committed crimes were deported to coal, mills, or hard agricultural labour. Rome had a cruel pastime of enslaving minorities. It was a part of their life to enjoy torturing slaves in their meetings for rebellion against Rome. The slaves came down in droves, so it was called the Servian War.
The Roman Serbian War
B C 135 – 132 A Slave named Yunus, known as the living prophet, joined the other slaves and led a massive rebellion against suppressed rebels. After the 29th year of the Lex Papi, another revolt broke out in Sicilia under the leadership of Athenian and Typhon ( BC 104). The riots were in the context of the abolition of the ancient system of killing until escaping from the master ( Hammurabi Code ) and the slaves wanted a little more freedom .it was also broken. Both Spartacus and his men tried to fight but it was unsuccessful. ( B C 73- 71 ) .The Roman Empire was economically dependent on slaves working without wages. People have always been seen as part of the property. Those who are captured as slaves were only allowed to live for seventeen or eighteen years ( Pyrus). It is estimated that he will die within eighteen years.Serfdom, military servitude , and the state servitude were distinct from domestic servitude. After some time, slaves in Rome gained the right to file a complaint against their masters.
In Paul’s time, the Roman enemy, the military, would have considered slaves and their descendants as slaves. And so there were many slaves in Paul’s time. Colossus was a city known as early as BC 5, and here it was under Roman rule. During the time of the Apostles, Caesar banned the trafficking of slaves from many places. But if a slave ran away from his master, there was even a reward for bringing them back. A fugitive beat is not worth protecting a daughter. And there shall be no law by which the master shall release his servants. In this way, while the laws were in place a slave named Onesimus escaped from the house of Philemon, a Christian master in Colossae, and approached St.Paul who was in prison.
The slave Onesimus must have known Christ through St.Paul; That’s why Onesimus took refuge with St.Paul, the spiritual teacher of his master Philemon of Colossae. There were enslaved Christians in the Colossian church. The Apostles Paul gives the spiritual law of Christ to the slave in the church through his writings. He called upon the slaves to meditate and respect Christ and accept their sufferings with Joy. It should be as per the description given by Onesimus. Paul understood the condition of the slaves in the church. When the masters became Christians, they started respecting the Christian slaves, and many of them were freed too.
When you read this, you will understand how great the Christian message was given by Jesus through the Apostles. When the slaves do the work in the master’s house by seeing Christ in their minds, their wounds of years are dried up and the thought of revenge ends. In this way, the slaves have become friends with the master whose crimes were only being discovered. Philemon, a Christian, loved his slave Onesimus at Paul’s suggestion and later died. During the time of the Apostles, Onesimus, who was a slave, had become a bishop of the Colossian Church. Onesimus was the brighter and mightiest one of Christ‘s followers who lived for Christ without fear of death and was always ready for Christ’s service. He was named by Ignatius of Antioch. Onesimus went from slave to brother to Bishop.
Wife
When a husband is with the woman then the Lady is worth being called Wife. Even when the woman is staying away from the husband, she is bonded with the relationship of the wife. But if she is legally divorced then she is free from the relation of wife. After the death of the husband, the woman is called a widow.
The woman is called WIBAM, in the Germanic language of Germany. Before the present English language grammar was formed, the woman was called the WIF.
In the early rural English grammar of London, IT WAS CALLED WIFE TO A WOMAN. During the rule of the Roman Empire Augustus, there were different new laws for men and women. According to the forum of West Temples – girls between the ages of 6 yrs to 12 yrs are called adolescents. After the age of 12 they should get married; before that age conducting the marriage was considered as against the law.
This law was followed by the early Roman Catholic Church, Gils who reached the age of twelve could get married with the consent of their parents. In the Reformed Roman Catholic Church in Europe, women under the age of 25 had more freedom to choose marriage than girls over the age of 18 yrs. It was upheld that a 25 yrs old woman could marry even without parental consent if her parent’s consent was required at the age of twelve. The parent also accepted the law, that the property of parents is the right of both males and females. The wife’s property was legally separated from her husband’s properties.
When Augustus reigned, he became so cruel that his marriage failed and for the living husbands, he put the blame on adulterers and was fined. The Lex Papia Poppaea passed a law that allowed men to marry at the age of 25. In the Indian culture, the Wife is called the “ PATNI” and the Ardhangani- which means Half of the husband. In the 13th century, adultery between a half-man and a half-woman was called a spousal infraction.
